FROM TRASH TO TREASURE

With the GOT BAG clean-up program off the North coast of Java, Indonesia, more than 2,000 local participants collect plastic from coastal waters, mangrove forests and the delta region of the nearby rivers. The Ocean Impact Plastic collected in the process is therefore no longer posing a threat to the oceans.

The PET portion of the Ocean Impact Plastic is cleaned, sorted and pressed into pellets – it makes up the raw material of GOT BAG products. The other types of plastic that cannot be recycled to date are fed into suitable recycling solutions.

The pellets are shipped to China for production, where they are processed into robust yarn. It is further processed into fabric for the backpacks and bags, with a waterproof coating on the inside and an additional water- and dirt-repellent finish on the outside.

To keep the ecological footprint as small as possible, the GOT BAGs are transported by ship to Europe and the USA. There they are shipped CO2-neutrally.

This bag is exactly as described/pictured. There are no internal pockets to organize anything but as far as I can tell it is water proof. The zipper is difficult to use due to the waterproofing I would assume. I enjoy this bag but not as much as others with organizers/easier zippers.

Great bag

I’ve been hemming and hawing about getting a hip pack for a while, and bought this one and another one, but promptly returned the other brand. This bag is non-discreet enough that I don’t feel like I’m wearing an old-school fanny pack, and holds enough that it was extremely useful while I was traveling the last couple of weeks. I would definitely recommend this bag and I would love it if they made more bags that are discreet like the monochrome black one, but perhaps in other colors. I would definitely buy a nice bright red with the invisible logo.

Elegant, convenient and high quality hip back!

I am already a happy owner of the rooltop, so knowing the build quality it was a no brainer for me to give an opportunity to the hi bag. It is of the same material, and it fits most of the essentials I usually carry with me (glasses, wallet, small power bank and keys). In addition I love the look of the monochrome version. It looks so elegant with the logo in black! However I would love for another design to keep the logo black, but the small label with the original colors instead of the gray tones. But this is just a minor aesthetic personal preference. I would definitely recommend this!

Activating the communities that spend most of their time on the water, we created a network of Indonesian fishermen to recover the ocean plastics they pull in with their nets. By-catch that isn’t edible, but recyclable. In addition to the plastic we collect directly from the ocean, we now collect plastic from coastal areas and prevent it from entering the ocean in the first place.
