On June 28, 2025, we opened the doors of our Mainz office to the public for the first time for our inaugural Bagyard Sale. At the event, guests enjoyed refreshing drinks and snacks while purchasing exclusive items from our design archive and learning more about us and our team.
Even before the official start at 11 a.m., a long line had formed on Breidenbacher Street with excited attendees waiting for the Bagyard Sale. Throughout the day, around 2,000 visitors took the chance to peek behind the scenes of the Mainz-based start-up, engage in great conversations, and pick up their favorite products.
More than 1,000 items were sold during the open house event. Alongside bags, backpacks, and accessories from our current collection, visitors also got access to exclusive one-of-a-kind pieces from our latest designs.
GOT BAG Custom Prints Featuring the Mainz Cathedral and Sea Turtles
Guests had the chance to personalize their GOT BAG items for free using pre-designed prints, including the outline of the Mainz Cathedral and marine-themed designs like sea turtles. This service is typically reserved for corporate clients who use it for employee gifts and more.
The hourly office tours were also well received, with various team members guiding curious visitors through our Altstadt office on Breidenbacher Street.
A highlight was the talk by Leonie Schreck, Lead of Mission at GOT BAG. She gave insights into the collaboration with our partner foundation GOT BAG Indonesia, shared our joint efforts, and explained the foundation’s clean-up program in Java.
As part of this program, local participants collect plastic waste from coastal regions and the ocean. The PET portion is used in the production of our products, while the rest is passed on to recycling partners or thermally processed.
A Colorful Crowd of All Ages
"We're thrilled that our first Bagyard Sale was such a big success and far exceeded our expectations. It was especially meaningful to host such a vibrant local event in our hometown Mainz and to welcome such a diverse and engaged crowd of all ages to our office. It certainly won’t be our last Bagyard Sale," said GOT BAG founder Benjamin Mandos.
Street Food & Drinks from Local Partners
A big thanks goes out to all the partners who made this day special: Catering came from j-town kitchen with their food truck serving authentic Indonesian and vegetarian dishes. N’Eis brought their ice cream bike to sweeten the summer day, while refreshing drinks were provided by local brewery Kuehn Kunz Rosen and coffee and matcha lattes came from Palm Bowls.
