Founded in 1977 by Captain Paul Watson, Sea Shepherd became well-known primarily for itscampaigns against whaling fleets. Today, they have evolved into a global movement with independent national and regional groups, comprising thousands of volunteers across more than 20 countries. The organization actively fights against illegal fishing and works towards the preservation of marine habitats, employing twelve ships and their crews.
