THE MATERIAL
RE:NYNET®
RE:NYNET® is a recycled nylon fabric made from discarded fishing nets. It comes from our recycling partner in Taiwan, who has many years of experience in recycling used nets. Disposing of old fishing nets is costly and labor-intensive. As a result, these nets often end up in the environment or the ocean, where, as so-called ghost nets, they cause uncontrolled damage. Our partner sources end-of-life nets from manufacturers and fisheries and chemically recycles them into new raw materials for nylon. We use RE:NYNET® for products that benefit from the soft and lightweight properties of this material.

Our recycling partner in Taiwan sources end-of-life fishing nets from local manufacturers and fisheries.

The nets are sorted, cleaned, and shredded on-site. They are then broken down into their original molecular components and transformed into new nylon pellets.

The pellets are melted and spun into yarn.

The recycled yarn is woven into RE:NYNET® – our lightweight nylon fabric for ultra-light and colorful bags.
